There are two ways to use airremote™.
You install a simple interface unit - the GC-100 - by connecting it to your network and the mains.
This unit communicates with your equipment using IR emitters - small "flasher" units about the size of a pea. They attach neatly to your TV, set-top box etc. and relay the commands to the infra-red receivers that your normal remote control talks to.
You can also connect a device that communicates over RS232 (using a DB-9 serial cable).
The software allows you to choose what kit you want to control (you select your TV, music system, satellite receiver etc.) and how you want to use it (are you controlling the TV volume itself, or do you need to operate an AV receiver?
airremote™ will work on any 802.11 (WiFi) wireless network that can connect to an iPod® touch or iPhone™. For further information and guidelines see here.
Once you've connected the GC-100 and specified what you have, airremote™ is ready to work. Each device has its own simple screen, with beautifully-designed controls that work simply and reliably.
If you have any questions, we're here to help.
If you use an AMX® or Crestron® system you'll appreciate how a single remote control can make a really big difference. airremote™ offers the same thing - a reliable, two-way touchscreen control - but with the familiar Apple® user interface.
airremote™ communicates with the existing control set-up, without interfering with the operation of any other elements of that system. All the control commands are handled by the AMX® or Crestron® system as normal, and the airremote™ communicates over IP, using the existing wireless network. Your custom installer will configure and programme your system to support airremote™. airremote™ are CEDIA members and work with your installer to ensure that we provide a seamless experience for the airremote™ user. |
